It seems that Julianne loves food so much that even after being fed her normal amount of food, she still begs for more from other people in the house. She also pretends there's food on empty plates. Here she is with a fork and plate pretending to eat. She even has to lick the plate clean to get every drop.
For the past few years, Jared's mom has gone and bought a pretty dress for Morgan for Christmas. I have loved all of them. She calls them their princess dress because she thinks they look like princesses in them. Well last year she bought a burgundy dress for Morgan and a orangy red dress for Julianne. I loved both of them, but together, the colors clashed. So this year, Jared's mom has let me pick them out and she'll pay for them. I was so excited that once I recieved the money, I went straight to the one store with all the gorgeous girl dresses. I had to take Morgan with me because she wanted to help pick it out, which ruined the surprise- I hope my mother in law doesn't mind. When we got to the store I had the perfect dress picked out, but Morgan hated it. After about and hour we finally picked a decent dress- not my favorite, but good enough and Julianne has a matching dress too. Both dresses are a royal purple which you can't tell from the picture. They're mad out of a shiny taffeta material.
We usually like to toss Julianne into the air . She absolutely loves it. Recently though, when we put her back down after tossing her, she wants to keep doing it. We know she wants to because she tries to jump , but she can't seem to get her feet off the ground. Here is a picture of her trying to jump.
This past weekend our family went with Jared's family to Jackson Hole. We go there almost every year during the fall. We went on a pioneer covered wagon ride up the mountain to have dinner. We also saw the Bar J Wranglers. They are some ranchers that play guitars and fiddles while they sing cowboy songs and do a comedy sketch while we eat a chuckwagon dinner. The leaves were changing and it was a nice to get away from our hectic schedules.
July 31st was our wedding anniversary. Marriage has been a big hurdle, but also a wonderful part of my life. 9 years ago, Jared and I were married in the Salt Lake Temple. This year for our anniversary, I wanted to take our girls to where we were married. So we walked around Temple Square and took lots of great pictures, one of which are the doorknobs of the temple. The temple is 105 years old and took 40 years to build. I just love old things like the doorknobs on the temple. They opened the gates to the temple so that we could get up close and climb the stairs. Jared surprised me that day with a framed picture of the Salt Lake Temple because he knows how much I love it.
I really wanted to go to This Is The Place Heritage Park , a place where Brigham Young stood and declared "This is the place. Drive on." At the park is Brigham Young's orignal farmhouse, which we got to tour, Mary Fielding Smith's original home, and some of the original log cabins of Salt Lake City. Here's Jared and the girls in front of the Brigham Young Monument that Young's grandson designed. The girls and I are in front of Mary Fielding Smith's home which is 159 years old.
Julianne finally turned one! The last thing we did at her party on July 23rd was eat cake. She was sitting on the counter with the cake after everyone got theirs, and when I wasn't looking, she grabbed a big piece out of the top of the cake and made a big mess on the counter. Sorry the picture is turned. I don't know how to make it upright.
When I take Morgan to school, Julianne sees me leave through the door that goes to the garage. She usually cries and I find her waiting at the door when I return. Jared is of course watching her while I'm gone. Today I left her downstairs while I went upstairs and when I returned she was crying by the door to the garage. She must have thought I had left out that door.
