This year I didn't get to follow my regular tradition of going to one of my parent's house for thanksgiving. None of them were available, so I had thanksgiving with my in laws. Julianne slept through the dinner though and we couldn't have the dinner at Jared's grandma's house, so we had it at his parents house.
Morgan started 2nd grade today. We barely found out who her teacher was this morning. She was so excited to start today that she was up at 6:30 am. Crazy girl. She finally has her own room in our huge house so that means she has to sleep in her own bed from now on. HEre are some pictures in her new room with her new backpack.
Well, we finally had the Lloyd family reunion in Idaho near Twin Falls. It was the first of many to come. Some of them will be probably in Arizona where some of the Lloyds live. It was a trip full of mosquitos, fun, swimming, food and mingling. Julianne wouldn't hold still long enough for me to socialize, but at least I tried. Here are some pictures from the party in Banbury Hot Springs, Idaho.
Jared had to go to New Orleans for a week and will be back tomorrow night. While he was gone Morgan had an ear infection, then Julianne got an ear infection as well as a urinary tract infection. Things always go wrong when Jared is gone. He's staying an extra day so he can do some sightseeing. The last time I talked to him today he said he was going on a bayou to see some alligators. Morgan and I made a welcome home sign for him because we missed him so much.
It is so hard to tame our yard. Mike weed wacked alot of grass that was growing into our flower beds and when he was done it looked terrible, so i spent an entire evening digging out all the grass. Then today I spent an hour mowing our whole yard, but it looks good now and the tulips make the yard look even better. My next job are all the weeds in the flower beds. I decided I was sick of all the dandelions in our grass that came from our neighbors yard, so I did a little service for them and pulled out all their dandelions.
Micheal left his window open in the basement and a mouse got in. It's probably been in the house for a couple of days, but I didn't see it until Sunday night. When I first saw it, I jumped up on the couch because I didn't know what it was at first, it was running so fast. It ran under our family room entertainment center. Jared tried to get it out with a stick and let it run ito a box, but when i flipped the box up to shut it, the mouse flung out and ran away. I had left the garage door open to let it out just in case it ran away, but we're not sure it got out.
This is what happens when you aren't watching your 19 month old. Julianne came into the room where I was and was covered in white powder. I followed the white powder trail she had left with her feet and it took me of course to the kitchen pantry. The whole box of cornstarch was dumped on the floor. Here are the pictures to prove it.
Things are starting to look a little more normal around the Newbold house. Jared is done working 15 hour days at odd hours and is back from his business trip to palm springs. Morgan no longer has lice. She's had it twice in the last two weeks. And Julianne is feeling better after a few days of high fevers. She wouldn't eat anything solid for a few days , if you can believe that, but now she has her appetite back. Here she is on top of a file box eating her apple.
